Sauteed Shrimp with Pasta

A quick and easy shrimp and pasta recipe. I'll try not to drool as I describe it. Not only is this (the dreaded word) healthy, it is incredibly satisfying. Shrimp is a staple here in N'Awlins, and adding sauteed onions, garlic and tomatoes made each bit delicious. It was also very easy to make, and even easier to modify. Not a fan of pasta? Throw the shrimp over a bed of dirty rice and dig in. Or add it to some leafy greens and enjoy. Want it a little more spicy? Well honey this is the Big Easy - grab your Tony's and shake it on! Just remember when you take that first bite ... I told you so. ;-)

Honey Teriyaki Pork

A delicious, healthy recipe from the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook. This was a refreshing summery pork with a lightly seared pineapple slice on top. It goes together wonderfully and is very tasty! We ate it with some asparagus and Couscous to keep it low in calories and healthy.

Turkey Stroganoff

Stroganoff was a staple at my household growing up. It was delicious, rich, filling and easy to make. But between the beef, a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a load of noodles it wasn't exactly healthy. Still, I wasn't ready to give up something so satisfying or emotionally soothing. So when we found this healthy, low-carb alternative I was thrilled ... and nervous. But it turns out it was delicious, and just as comforting as the original.

Another recipe this month from the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook. This month we're offering a delicious Goat Cheese topped chicken with a white wine mushroom sauce. Served over Dreamfields Pasta, this meal is filling, satisfying, and low-carb.

Contemporary Peppered Chopped Steak

We found this recipe in the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook. We are really fond of that book, by the way, which has bold flavors and healthy takes on comforting, traditional meals.

This week we tried several which were amazing. One of our favorites was was this Contemporary Peppered Steak, which used a grape juice reduction (yes really!) to keep it flavorful and healthy. We put it on a bed of mashed potatoes and had a side of asparagus. Delicious. Absolutely, surprisingly delicious.
